Welcome International Students!

Finances
International students are required to demonstrate the ability to provide financial support for the duration of their stay at MPCC. Students must provide written notification from a bank (translated into U.S. dollars) of their ability to maintain themselves financially while attending MPCC. Currently this amount is $9,500 U.S. dollars in the students name for one academic year. This does not include travel expenses. If a student has a scholarship that covers all education and housing related costs they will only be required to provide documentation of $2,000 U.S. dollars for personal living expenses. International students must make a deposit of $3,750 U.S. dollars before the college may issue an I-20. This deposit covers the cost of tuition, fees, housing and some meals for the first term of attendance. Documentation of a full scholarship waives the need to make a deposit.
Cost
The tuition and fees for 2009/2010 school year are $101.00 U.S. dollars per credit hour. International students are required to attend a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. Most take 15 credit hours per semester. Thus, the average cost for tuition and fees per semester $1515.00 U.S. dollars. For the academic year this amount is $ 3030.00 U.S. dollars.
Minimum housing costs range from $1700.00 U.S. dollars per semester to $2300.00 U.S. dollars per semester depending on which campus a student chooses to live on. Annual costs range from $3400.00 U.S. dollars to $4600.00 U.S. dollars minimum.
On average a student should expect to pay between $6430.00 and $7630.00 U.S. dollars for tuition, fees and housing. Additionally, students should expect to pay approximately $1100.00 U.S. dollars for books and supplies per year and approximately $2000.00 U.S. dollars for food, personal and incidental expenses. If a student wants to travel during semester breaks additional funds would be needed.
Financial Aid
International students are not eligible for U.S. government sponsored financial aid; however, there are a limited number of scholarships for which international students may be eligible.
Employment
International students may be eligible to work on campus. MPCC has a limited number of jobs for which they may apply. International students may not be employed off campus.
